What happened?

Sorry if this has already been discussed.  I was here 12/06/22- the last day before the site went dark.  Does anyone know what happened?  Is this still run by the same group?  I don’t mind starting over, just wanted to ask, I really enjoyed this site.

Yes, we were surprised when the site all the sudden disapeared.  And curious what we users can do to prevent it from happening again.

the topic of inappropriate uploads …
as soon as the site grows, several thousand media files are added every day … this can only be controlled and deleted with many moderators …

it speaks for the ab community that within a very short time after a restart the site immediately explodes to its old strength 😉

this would be the approach:

1.) from the community, 10-20 moderators with the right mindset are found who keep the site clean.

2.) in the medium term, funding must be found for the further development of the community without the site becoming commercial.

3.) the site has to be further developed with the ab community funding.

By the way, the members who are always there when we restart (and there are many of them) are really just as crazy as we are.

Thank you Luke – I can see this challenge.  Some sites, like Newtumbl are exessively killing blogs.  Not only for under age posts, but also they worry about copyrights.

So how to balance between safety and a good user experience.  Don’t really have a good answer.

So did the mods take the site down willing back in December or was it a decision forced on you guys?

Also I remember towards the end last December there was a serious problem with spam accounts making new groups/posts every few hours. As the site grows is there a plan to deal with preventing that?

Luke, thank you for responding, I appreciate seeing an actual moderator interact with us.  This is really the only site I feel comfortable uploading since its a smaller group, with good intentions.

I would rather keep the site like it is, the format is simple, the group is tight.  Spammers were an issue, I spent nights doing nothing but reporting those, but thats what it takes to keep a site going.

We can all take responsibility to report/flag unauthorized uploads.

I wanted to add, thank you everyone for responding, I would like all the posts but I am not seeing that option.  I recall there may be a few addtl steps to take,  I’ll figure it out-  but I appreciate all of you!

I totally agree- we as users can support this site by flagging spammers or under age porn

I missed the site! Glad it is back. I agree with what was said about NewTumbl too. It ain’t like it used to be – back in the day.

Try Patreon as a fund raiser to keep the site free from commercials. I’m sure ppl wouldn’t mind contributing to a monthly tier with Patreon.

If Pandora sims who has sims4 game with adult content can have a patreon account, then AB should be able to as well.

I am also glad you are back, I really enjoy this site. There seems to be alot of them going down now. the thing i like most is the ability to create your own tastes of materal and seeing the other member taste as well. I really missed the site do you forsee any further problems?
